Notes from the Parish Magazine...
November is dashing past, quite wet but not yet too cold. The last weekend of the month will start with the Band Concert with Silk Brass on the 28th, the beginning of our Christmas celebrations, then the Christmas Fair from 12 – 3pm with an opportunity to buy Christmas presents, and on the Sunday the Deanery Bell Ringers Service with a demonstration of hand bell ringing and bell ringing. Then it will be December with our own Christingle service, a Festival Service in the Chapel, the School Carol Service, Carols round the Crib and then Christmas Day! A lot to look forward to.
Our Remembrance was very well attended and we had the Last Post before the two minutes silence. The collection went to the British Legion. Our Family Songs of Praise was very popular when a number of the children excelled themselves with their readings and singing, we hope to make future family services more interactive.
There has already been an interest in the vacancy for vicar of our new benefice with a couple visiting for a preliminary look around. The vacancy will be advertised in the Church Times in January. We are also pleased to report that Chester has at last agreed to write off Bosley parish share arrears so we start with a clean sheet.
The service to install Bishop Willy as the vicar of Gawsworth and North Rode is on December 4th. So we say a final farewell to North Rode and wish them well In their new benefice.
