As November draws to a close our thoughts turn to Christmas and the coming of the Christ Child. Celebrations start at the end of the month with the Silk Brass band concert followed on Sunday 1st December with the Christingle Service. The flames on the candles on the Christingle oranges illuminate the dark church as we sing the last carol, Away in a Manger.
The following weekend the School Christmas Fair is on Saturday 7th when Father Christmas will appear and the next day the Christmas Festival Family Carol Service is held at the Methodist Church. 4pm for a buffet tea and stained glass tree decorations for the children and 5pm for the carol service led by Revd Pam Butler with participation by several groups from in and around the village.
The church holds its Carols Round the Crib service at 10am on 22nd December with the children acting out with carols the nativity story. Is there a baby in the village who can be the Baby Jesus? Please let me know (226389) All children welcome to join in.
